Chevening Scholarships

Chevening scholarships are offered by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs) every year in over 150 countries world-wide. This is a prestigious scholarship scheme providing fully funded scholarships for Master’s Degree programmes to talented graduates and young professionals from Nigeria. The Chevening scheme in Nigeria is run in conjunction with the British Council since 1984. Nigeria has produced more than 900 Chevening Scholars, many of whom have gone on to occupy important positions. 

 

The following themes and subject areas are of special interest

    

 Governance (including strengthening democracy, electoral reform, judicial/police reform, journalism, economic governance and public sector reform).

 Energy (including security/governance of oil and gas industry, renewable energy). 

 Sustainable development (including non-oil sector economic development, privatisation, MDGs/poverty reduction, education and environmental management). 

Business administration/Economics.
