The Communication Section, CS is responsible for presenting and promoting the UK and the British Government policy in Nigeria. CS liaises with the British Council, UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), the UK Border Agency (UKBA) and the Department for International Development (DFID) to ensure a co-ordinated effort across the country. The Head of CS is the official spokesperson for the High Commission.

CS provides a wide range of services, including reference information on all aspects of Britain; publications covering British Government policy as well as television and video services. It is also the base for the ukinnigeria.fco.gov.uk website.

CS co-ordinates all media operations for the UK Government including press conferences and interviews by visiting Government Ministers. It is also responsible for public diplomacy programmes & events and the Chevening fellowship scheme. CS is based in the High Commission in Abuja.
