Our High Commission in Abuja

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria Mr Bob Dewar is the representative in Nigeria of Her Majesty the Queen. He is responsible to the British Government for all aspects of the relationship between our two countries.

Our Political Section is responsible for political relations between the UK and Nigerian Governments.  They monitor the political situation in Nigeria and seek to strengthen the bilateral relationship.

Our Trade & Investment Section is the UK Government's trade and investment promotion vehicle. It is also responsible for trade policy and economic relations.

 

Our Visa Section is responsible for providing visa and entry clearance services for those wanting to travel to the UK.

 
Our Defence Section is responsible for all aspects of the defence relationship between UK and Nigeria.

Our Management Section is responsible for all human and financial resources and provides support to all front line departments

Our Media and Public Affairs Section is responsible for presenting and promoting the UK and British Government policy in Nigeria.  It is also responsible for the Chevening Scholarship programme.

The British Council is responsible for activities in education, English language, governance, science and the arts.

 

The Department for International Development is responsible for the UK's development assistance programme. Its objective is to work with Nigeria's Federal and State Governments towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in Nigeria.
